Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY CASMER HNATIUK October 17, 1929 - August 6, 2008 With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandfather at the Selkirk General Hospital, on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Gladys; sons, Stan Jr. and Nancy, Jeff and Terry, and Glen and Julia. His pride and joy were his six grandchildren, Brayden, Garrett, Laura, Colton, Aileen and Morgan. Stan is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Arthur); nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Agnes and Nick; and his sister Irene. A lifelong resident of Selkirk, Stan was employed by Brown's and Willman's Bakery, where he was held in high regard by his co-workers and customers. Stan's family was always most important to him and he enjoyed being involved with his three sons while they were growing up and was always supportive in all their activities and felt very fortunate and proud to be involved in his grandchildren's activities. Stan and Gladys enjoyed 54 years of marriage. After retirement they enjoyed winters in Florida, where they had the privilege of attending many PGA tour events, watching their son Glen play and meeting many of the world's top players. The family would like to thank the Selkirk ambulance attendants and the medical staff in the emergency ward at the Selkirk General Hospital. Your concern and compassion was very much appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, with Father Peter Chorney officiating. Private interment will be at the Notre Dame Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or KIDSPORT Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
